Cultural Nite is an annual performance put on by the University of Calgary’s Filipino Students’ Association. The show is recognized for displaying Filipino culture through acting, singing, and dancing. After being on hiatus for 2 years, the UCFSA came back strong with their show titled “CN XXVI: A Promise Through Time”. With many of their dancers approaching the art as new members, the club executed a show filled with drama, joy, sadness, passion, and love. The performance followed the narrative of a friend group and their journey with reconciling with the loss of a loved one. Through their tale, the audience was able to learn about traditional Filipino dances while laughing and smiling. Cultural Nite is a significant memory for both the participants and the audience and will continue to be a tradition that the UCFSA carries into their future.
