This month the sounds of the Philippines came to Calgary from a group out of Boston. On August 1, in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary and the Philippine Cultural Center Foundation, the Iskwelahang Pilipino Rondalla of Boston made Calgary it’s first stop on it’s Canadian tour.
The show, Reveries and Rhythms, brought together a combination of traditional Philippine folk songs and folk dance music performed by a rondalla, an ensemble of stringed instruments.
